On Saturday, August 29th, 2020 the weather forecast was calling for rain and lots of it! There was actually a tropical storm that was due to make its appearance along the east coast of New Jersey this day! This is not an ideal situation for an LBI wedding! The day started at Hotel LBI for bride prep and it was cloudy and lightly drizzling, however this still is not a bad start to the day considering what the weather report was saying!

During bride prep at Hotel LBI a monsoon of rain wanted to make its debut and come roaring down! Luckily, we were inside and had about an hour before we had to start making our way to the venue for the ceremony. It was maybe about 15 minutes before we were set to leave that the rain finally stopped. When looking out the windows of Hotel LBI, we even saw what looked like the sun trying to pop out from behind the clouds! It started to look like Laurie and Kyle’s LBI wedding might even get a little sunshine!

The dream was to try to have the ceremony on the beach at Brant Beach Yacht Club but had to make a last-minute decision to host the ceremony inside since a small storm was predicted to happen shortly after the start of the ceremony. This was a great choice because it did end up raining again, but it was only a very small storm so rolled over very quickly.

After the ceremony, we were making our way to the beachside of Brant Beach Yacht Club with all of Laurie and Kyle’s bridal party and family. We were just about to start bridal party portraits when the sun started to pop out from behind the clouds a little. We had to do a few bride and groom portraits first while the sun was out! Laurie and Kyle’s LBI wedding just kept getting better and better as the day went on! We were able to do all their portraits, including their bridal party and family formals on the beach with only a few drops of rain! Not only did we luck out with the weather basically all day, but we were also graced with a rainbow towards the end of cocktail hour! That is a major win in my book!

The reception started off with their first dance and parent dances under a tent set up at Brant Beach Yacht Club to accommodate the indoor restrictions due to the New Jersey government mandates. Typically a reception at Brant Beach Yacht Club would take place in their 200 people maximum ballroom but with New Jersey still being the only state in the United State still in full shutdown for indoor dining, their reception had to be hosted outside. However, with all the luck we were having with the weather earlier in the day, we could not have asked for a better night with an amazing cool breeze and no rain!

During the toasts, the most gorgeous sunset started to form too. Everyone was just in awe because no one thought we would even see any sun on this day, let alone a beautiful set on the LBI beach! Of course, we had to get a few sunset portraits at Brant Beach Yacht Club beach!

The night consisted of so much love, laughter, joy, and pure fun! We ended the night with an exciting sparkler send off at the front of the Brant Beach Yacht Club. Congratulations Laurie and Kyle!!

Laurie is SO pretty!

All the feels after this long awaited vow exchange!

I love that all the girls had different color dresses! It adds such a beautiful pop to portraits!

I loved Laurie’s black denim jacket!
