As a Jersey Shore maternity photographer, sessions like this one make me love studio photography even more. Carly, her husband, and baby Cole brought the sweetest energy into the studio. Not long ago, I photographed Cole’s first birthday session. Therefore, seeing them return for maternity photos felt so special.
This session focused on soft neutrals, genuine emotion, and relaxed family moments. Additionally, Carly looked absolutely stunning in her fitted cream gown. The entire setup matched the light and airy style perfectly. Their wardrobe choices photographed beautifully while still feeling simple and timeless.
Cole definitely kept us moving during the session. However, you would never know from these images. Toddlers rarely sit still for long, especially during maternity sessions. Still, that does not mean we cannot create beautiful photographs. As a Jersey Shore maternity photographer, I always expect toddlers to bring their own personalities into sessions. Honestly, that usually creates the best memories.
Instead of forcing stiff poses, I let Cole explore and play naturally. Because of that, we captured genuine smiles and sweet interactions. Some of my favorite images happened during the in-between moments. The little kisses, tiny hugs, and silly toddler giggles made this gallery feel authentic.
Including older siblings in maternity photos tells a much bigger story. After all, welcoming a new baby changes the entire family dynamic. Cole may not fully understand it yet, but these images will become meaningful memories later.
As a Jersey Shore maternity photographer, I always encourage parents to include siblings during maternity sessions. Even energetic toddlers add so much personality and connection. While sessions can feel chaotic at times, the final gallery always feels worth it.
Studio maternity sessions also make life easier for growing families. Parents never need to worry about weather, wind, or uncomfortable temperatures. Additionally, toddlers usually feel more comfortable in a calm indoor environment. My studio offers soft lighting, neutral tones, and plenty of space for movement. Therefore, families can relax and simply focus on each other.
Carly and her family completely trusted the process during this session. Because of that, we created a gallery full of warmth and emotion. The neutral colors kept the focus on their connection rather than distractions. I especially loved the cozy bed setup and the clean white background images.
One thing I always tell parents is this: toddlers do not need to behave perfectly. Seriously, perfection is never the goal. As a Jersey Shore maternity photographer, I know how to work through toddler moods and short attention spans. Sometimes the most challenging moments create the sweetest photographs.
This session reminded me why I love capturing growing families so much. Carly and her family created such beautiful memories together. Soon, they will welcome another little baby into the world. Until then, these images freeze this short season forever.
