The first time I met Kristen was during a Zoom meeting, which if I am being honest, is not quite a real meeting. Nothing can replace a genuine face-to-face encounter with another person to really get to know each other. However, Zoom and FaceTime definitely do make meeting people so easy especially during a pandemic!
Kristen and I periodically chatted over text, Instagram, and email so as the days leading up to Kristen and Scott’s engagement session approached, the excitement to finally meet them both was really setting in. I love having a true connection with my couples and I feel like we can’t really achieve a genuine connection until we meet for the engagement session. The reason for this is because your engagement session is the time where we can goof off, laugh, have fun, practice posing, and capture beautiful memories! I never want an engagement session to feel like we are just taking photos, that doesn’t sound exciting. So with that being said, we make it fun!
Kristen and Scott’s Barnegat Lighthouse Engagement Session could not have turned out more perfect! Even though Mother Mature stole the sun away from us that we had earlier in the day, I am still obsessed with their images! I am a sucker for dusty blue tones so Kristens dress from Lulus was perfect for this Barnegat Lighthouse Engagement Session! The wind picked up as we approached the end of their session which actually worked out to create flow with Kristen’s dusty blue maxi dress.
I need to also give thanks to Scott who wheeled around our cart full of my photography gear and their clothes and props for the session. Furthermore, Scott pulled the cart though some of the softest sand and let’s just say this cart was not meant to be taken off a paved path. Toward the very end of the session Scott even broke a sweat so I truly thank you Scott for being such a gentlemen!
