Brigalias | Amanda and Will’s Autistic Wedding | Ultimate Edge Photography

If you were not told, you would have had no idea that Amanda and Will were Autistic… Amanda has Autism and Will has Asperger’s. Their wedding stuck with tradition. I did not get any of the standard prep shots we are used to seeing nowadays. I did not get any fancy poses or “epic” shots. I did not push to make it anything other than what it was – old school traditional. It was just simply simple. I captured the love Amanda and Will share for one another and simply just that.

The joy Will had when he saw Amanda for the first time was so heartwarming! There were no tears, just pure gasping awe as she walked toward him. Will touched many hearts as he read to her a poem he wrote during their ceremony. Everyone was stunned as they did not know Will was such a romantic! Even during a speech Will gave during the reception to all their guest, he stated: “who knew that two Autistic people could fall so madly in love with each other”.

Amanda and Will’s wedding reminded me why I love the job. It reminded me I am not in this profession only for epic or award-winning shots. I don’t want to become famous or even rich doing what I do. I am in this profession to capture the love two people share, to capture images that my couples are over the moon ecstatic for. If I complete this task than I more than fulfilled my obligation as their photographer.

Brigalias is a hidden gem of a venue offering two large ballrooms, outdoor and indoor ceremony sites, a new barn for both the ceremony and reception and lots of scenery for portraits. Also. Brigalias offers both bride and groom suites, as well as an arcade in the grooms’ suite… SAY WHAT?! So much fun! For Amanda and Will’s wedding, their ceremony took place in the Chapel and their reception was in the Camelot Ballroom that seats about 150 people.
