From the moment Bennett arrived, this little guy kept everyone smiling. As a Manahawkin photographer, I love sessions that feel relaxed and full of personality. Bennett stayed awake for much of his newborn session. However, he stayed calm and happy the entire time. That combination created so many sweet moments in my studio.
Mom wanted soft colors with a nautical theme. Therefore, we used blues, creamy neutrals, and my favorite little fishing boat prop. The setup felt timeless while still adding playful details. I always remind parents that themed newborn photos can still feel clean and classic. Bennett proved that perfectly.

Bennett gave us the cutest expressions during his session. Sometimes newborns fight sleep, but that can create beautiful images too. As a Manahawkin photographer, I actually enjoy those awake moments. They often show more personality and connection.
His tiny toes deserved their own spotlight. Therefore, I captured close-up detail shots before moving into wrapped poses. Those little features change so quickly during the newborn stage. Parents always tell me those images become favorites later.
The wrapped poses worked beautifully for Bennett. Although he stayed awake often, he loved being snug and cozy. The soft blue wraps matched Mom’s nautical vision perfectly. Meanwhile, the neutral setups kept the gallery balanced and timeless.
One of my favorite images featured Bennett inside the fishing boat prop. He looked completely relaxed while holding the tiny fishing pole. Additionally, the fish details completed the setup without overwhelming the image. The result felt playful yet simple.
Family photos always matter during newborn sessions. As a Manahawkin photographer, I focus on connection more than stiff posing. Bennett’s parents made that incredibly easy.
Mom wore a beautiful lace gown that photographed perfectly against the neutral studio space. Meanwhile, Dad kept things simple with light jeans and a fitted white shirt. Their outfits kept the focus on their new baby boy.

The sweetest moments happened naturally between poses. Bennett stared up at his parents several times throughout the session. Those little interactions created emotional images that felt genuine and relaxed.
I also loved photographing the contrast between the soft newborn details and their bold tattoos. The combination created such striking and meaningful portraits. Additionally, the neutral studio tones helped everything blend together beautifully.
As a Manahawkin photographer, I always encourage parents to trust simple setups. Clean backgrounds and soft textures never go out of style. Bennett’s gallery showed exactly why timeless newborn photography works so well.
By the end of the session, Bennett finally gave us a few sleepy poses too. However, his awake images still stole the show. They captured his personality perfectly during those first precious weeks.
Sessions like this remind me why I love newborn photography so much. Every baby brings something different into the studio. Bennett brought calm energy, adorable expressions, and so many unforgettable moments. As a Manahawkin photographer, those are the sessions I never forget.
