Capturing Emma’s newborn photos was an absolute honor, but it was also truly special to capture her first Birthday Photography. As a photographer, I love being a part of these precious moments in a family’s life and documenting a child’s growth and milestones.
One of my favorite types of photography sessions to do is cake smash birthdays. There is something so fun and carefree about watching a little one dig into their first birthday cake. Making a mess and enjoying every moment of it are treasureable memories. For Emma’s first birthday session, her mom wanted a wildflower theme, which I thought was a beautiful and whimsical idea.
I worked closely with Emma’s mom to bring her vision to life. I was excited to create a custom setup inspired by wildflowers. The same florals that were used in Emma’s newborn photos were incorporated into the cake smash Birthday Photography as well. This created a cohesive and beautiful look for both sessions. The soft pastel colors of the flowers and the delicate greenery added a touch of sweetness and innocence to the photos.
Watching Emma dive into her cake with a big smile on her face was pure joy. She giggled and smeared frosting all over her face. My camera clicked away, capturing every messy, precious moment of her first birthday celebration.
