Welcoming baby Matthew felt like reuniting with old friends. I photographed the Leonard family before, during Oaklee’s pregnancy and newborn session. That included their first round of family newborn photos, which were full of warmth and love. Now, here we are again—this time celebrating their newest addition. And honestly? I couldn’t be more honored.
Oaklee is now a bubbly toddler and a proud big sister. She rocked her role during the session! Watching her gently hold her baby brother made my heart melt. She was full of smiles and sweet little giggles.
From the moment I walked into their home, it felt like magic. The light, the love, the little details—all perfect. The navy swaddle Matthew wore added such a rich, cozy feel. Plus, the moon bowl setup gave us that dreamy, sleepy vibe everyone adores.
Family Newborn Photos with Heart
What I love most about family newborn photos is the story they tell. Each session adds a new chapter, and this one was full of joy.
Matthew snoozed his way through most of the session. He didn’t mind the noise, the cuddles, or even his sister poking his little toes. We captured all the sweet newborn goodness—tiny fingers, sleepy yawns, and those perfectly squishy cheeks.
Of course, we also focused on family connections. Mom and Dad beamed the entire time. You could just feel how deeply in love they are with both of their babies.
Not only did we snap solo shots of Matthew, but we also created magic through sibling and full family newborn photos. These are the images they’ll treasure forever. Photos like these show love in its purest form.
We even added a dreamy moon scene and soft textures that made Matthew look like he was floating in the clouds. It was everything I could’ve hoped for.
Looking Ahead
This isn’t the end of Matthew’s story. I also had the honor of photographing his maternity session. And guess what? I’ll be back for his first birthday too!
That’s one of the best parts of my job—watching families grow. Creating these family newborn photos builds a visual legacy. From bump to baby to birthday, I get to be part of it all. And I take that seriously (but with plenty of fun and baby talk too).
