LBI Photographer – Glowy Jersey Shore Family Session

Being an LBI photographer, I meet many amazing families of all sizes. A bonus is capturing some of the most beautiful glowy and cotton candy sunsets. Long Beach Island honestly has some of the most beautiful beaches, in my opinion. My favorite locations along the Jersey Shore are Beach Haven, Barnegat Lighthouse, and Seven Bridges. You probably have not heard of Seven Bridges, as it is not on the LBI shore. Seven Bridges is a hole-in-the-wall strip of beaches located very close to LBI in Tuckerton. Depending on where you are coming from, Long Beach Island, the drive is a straight shot down Route 9 and takes about twenty to thirty minutes.

What is Seven Bridges?

Furthermore, Seven Bridges is a strip of road with, you guessed it, seven bridges. As you drive down this road, you start to feel like you are driving to the middle of nowhere. However, you’ll find yourself at a dead end after you pass the last two single-lane wood bridges. At the dead end of this road is a strip of beach that is typically never busy during the week. The beach overlooks the iconic Atlantic City buildings, and occasionally, you will see seals pop their heads up. You will also find Rutgers University Marine Field Station entrance close to the road’s dead end.

Most important, Rutgers University Marine Field Station gives the images a Cape Cod vibe. It offers such charm to the glowy sunset portrait on the beach. I love to start sessions on this strip of beach as it offers the glow most people are looking for when they hire an LBI photographer. About halfway through, I recommend moving to another strip for the second half of the session. Furthermore, the second location is on the same road directly after the first bridge. This spot is iconically known as Boat Ramp at Great Bay Boulevard and is easy to find on the GPS.

Iconic Cotton Candy Sunsets

As a result, a small strip of beach on the East side of the road is my go-to location to capture those cotton candy sunsets that probably drew you to my portfolio. This location offers such charm with pompous grass and is very secluded. Making it perfect for a location to capture intimate couples portraits or extended family sessions without the crowds.

I have had the honor of capturing Michelle and Matt’s family for a few years in a row now. Obviously, the pandemic did put a damper on our yearly family sessions, though. However, capturing their family this year was great as their oldest child, Lilly, will leave for college in July. Congratulations on being accepted into the Univerity of Florida!
